The federal capital is preparing to become a “Model Digital City,” to integrate a wide range of technological innovations for the benefit of its citizens.
According to the statement of officials of Information Technology Islamabad project will serve as the pilot project. This transition reflects the Prime Minister’s vision of digitalization and is a significant step towards the integration of modern technology.
This ‘Model Digital City’ project will make 150 government services accessible to residents of Islamabad through a new City Super Application. This mobile application will help residents by providing access to various services including, the Capital Development Authority (CDA), health services, Islamabad Police, and educational institutions.
The software installed in this application will also have an e-parking facility, which is intended to ease parking administration and reduce traffic congestion in the city. The project will include the installation of AI-integrated smart cameras across Islamabad. These cameras will boost security within the city by constantly monitoring street crimes while improving traffic management at the same time.
Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja highlighted the significance of digital transformation. She said that the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication under the leadership of the Prime Minister is focused on advancing the Digital Pakistan Vision, with the Digital Pakistan Policy setting the stage for further development in this area.
