All 737 police stations across Punjab, including those in Lahore, will be equipped with solar power systems. The announcement was made by IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, who said that the solarization project will be implemented in two phases.
The first phase involves installing solar power systems at 350 police stations, including 40 stations in Lahore. The second phase, scheduled for the next fiscal year, will cover the remaining 375 police stations. Each station will receive a 3-kilowatt system with batteries to store the energy.
Police station’s transition to solar energy will help to reduce carbon emissions and create a better, cleaner, and sustainable environment. The program is expected to improve energy efficiency, reduce operating costs, and address the region’s power shortage problems.
