Saudi Arabia is planning to build a version of the Louvre Museum in Riyadh, according to a new BBC documentary on the Kingdom’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The news was revealed in the BBC documentary titled ‘The Kingdom: The World’s Most Powerful Prince’.

The world’s most expensive artwork, ‘Salvator Mundi’, by Leonardo da Vinci was bought by the crown prince for $450 million in 2017 at an auction and will be at the center of the collection with the core focus.

Saudi Arabia attracted 27 million foreign visitors in the year 2023 and more than doubled its goal for the end of the decade. It is anticipated to hit 150 million tourists by 2030, making it an enchanting tourist attraction.

The painting ‘Salvator Mundi’ is by Italian High Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci. The same artist is famous for his emblematic artwork “Mona Lisa’’ the most realistic painting of the age. The artist was famous for using his intelligence and scientific methods in his artwork representations.

Salvator Mundi also known as “the male Mona Lisa’’ is a well-known work of Leonardo. According to their beliefs, the painting is famous as Christ is portrayed in the picture as the world’s saviour. Wearing Renaissance attire, he is seen benedictively with two fingers outstretched. He is holding a crystal orb in his left hand, symbolizing the crystalline sphere of the sky suggesting his position as universe controller.
