British High Commissioner Jane Marriott had a meeting with CM Maryam Nawaz and Nawaz Sharif in Murree and discussed health, climate, education, and the government’s initiatives for Digital Punjab. Both governments agreed to work mutually to handle challenges related to climate change. On that occasion, Maryam Nawaz invited British firms to invest in Nawaz Sharif IT City and said, ‘British institutions will be welcomed to establish IT universities.’ Political Counsellor for the British High Commission Zoe Ware was also present.
CM Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, briefed the British high commissioner about IT projects in Punjab and told him that ‘the project of Nawaz Sharif IT City, Twin Towers in Lahore, is fast-tracked to completion.’.
She also discussed measures taken by the Punjab government to reduce environmental pollution and updated about the solar panel project in Punjab. The meeting also included discussions about Punjabi students’ access to prestigious UK universities for their education.
